Hi I checked in with weekend vrij and found no place in the train. On the app I was able to switch class to first class only for today, but no indication of how much extra it would cost? Would this be billed at the end of the month?
Also do I need to re check in after switching classes

The cost of this one day switch is as stated by Tochjo: During weekends, this switch will cost you 40.2% of the second class fare. This will end up being billed with the rest of your product and if you've done this within 15 minutes of checking in it's active immediately and you do not need to check in again!

Daniël's answer is incorrect; with NS Flex you cannot temporarily switch to first class for a fixed price. During weekends, this switch will cost you 40.2% of the second class fare. This amount will be added to your invoice. See page 15 of this document.
Thanks for the correction Tochjo! Somehow I still had the fee for the old products in my head. I've updated my first comment to reflect this.
