Dobry den?! Dzien dobzy?!  If you are from East-Europe, you will balk at the prices and none will be cheap. It also VERY much depends on what time you can travel-in the peaks, both am/pm, its very expensive.

IF you can manage, adapt to only travel off -peak (untill 6.35, from 8,55, again from 16.05-18.25, these times all have a 5 min favour for you, as quoted times are more the normal 6.30-.900 etc. you can travel ANywhere by TRAIN only in NL for (this year) 105/eur/month. The times you check in with the card determine the price, not the actual times of the train.

ALL subscirptions come only on a personal chipcard, with you foto+name on them, thus have to be processed, and this can only start once you have a DUTCH bank account nr. The system is due to change also rom 1/1/21, it is called FLEX and that means any addioto0nal travel, laos by bustram etc. will becharged afterwards. Thus this makes a risk for NS and I really cannot say if they thus have a special policy for brandnew foreigners, as you likely will be in this.

NO, there is NO special discount, like there is in PL and also SK, for students here. This is because all dutch students with studygrants/loans get an automatic free travel loaded on their chipcard.

The normal prices-for single or return (=double) can easily be found on the NS site. it will depend on which actual station in AMS you will start. There is also a monthly season for a given traject between 2 stations=maandtrajectvrij,. also easy to find on the site. Just ask for any '’travel advice, click on button for prices etc.

The advantage here is you dont have to cope with a multitude of different train companies with all different tickets and prices, like PL has managed to develop.
