When they say that the train only produces 6kg of CO2 compared to the cars 10kg, does this mean 6kg per person or 6kg for the whole train ?

May I nominate this "best question of the year"? :$
Also, how exactly is this calculated? Not every train has the same CO2 production, I suppose, as longer trains use more electricity and of course not every train runs on electricity to begin with, some use diesel instead.

And in most of these CO2 calculations people forget to take into account the CO2 that was produced during the building of the cars/trains and in the production of oil-products/windmills.
