My kid 6 years old has his OV chip card( Kids Free subscription) is this valid on busses also? He goes to school by bus and sometime machine shows red symbols so wondering if this is valid in bus. I earlier belived kids b/w 4-11 are free in busses too. Please advise.
Kids free is only valid on trains. Kids 4-11 are travelling in busses for reduced price. Kids 0-3 are travelling for free.

No, for Kids Vrij there is no option to pay afterwards. He will need balance on the card to travel in bus/tram/metro.
For trains, travel is free but it is necessary to travel with an ‘adult’ (12 years or older).
