I am a month into my NS flex subscription. I have the Dal Vrij option currently but have come up with a few questions after looking at the first invoice.
1.) I’ve been charged a few times for using the bus. I thought my subscription included free bus use?
2.) I have also been charged for using the NS fiets. I thought this was included in my subscription? The pick up and drop off times were under the 24 hour limit as well.
NS Flex subscriptions are only valid for travel by train. You always pay the full fare when you use bus, tram or metro.
The OV fiets subscription is included, but not the rental costs. The subscription only enables to you rent an OV fiets, but you still have to pay for it every time you do. The amount due is determined by rounding up the rental times to the nearest multiple of 24. So if you rent an OV fiets for less than 24 hours, you pay 3.95 euros, and if you rent one for 24 to 48 hours, then you pay 7.90 euros. See this page for more information.
