I had two subscriptions under my account, one is a traject vrij from Utrecht to Den Haag for my workday commute, and the other one is a weekend vrij. Last month I by mistake used my weekend vrij chipcard for commute, and a total sum of ~€500 is generated. I was wondering if I can claim this mistake and only pay for the cost excluding the travelling between Den Haag and Utrecht?

Normally, you could request a refund for 3 journeys a year to fill in the form. My advice is to contact our customer service they can check if they can do something about these costs.
