Good day, I have a complaint for you. I live in Den Helder and study in Amsterdam. Every Monday, the 9.08 train is cancelled. The same thing happened today and the next train is +10 minutes late. What kind of negligence is this? People are late for school, work, and maybe the most important meeting of their lives because of you. Can I learn the reason for the cancellation of the 09.08 train?

This train didn't run between Den Helder and Alkmaar. I don't know why.

Due to a faulty train in the Amsterdam area earlier this morning your train was unable to to reach Den Helder. Such delays and cancellations are quite common in the Netherlands.

In order to reduce the amount of rolling stock needed, in the peak hours the trains have a short layover between two trips. Because of this, and the fact that this line is single track, when a train is delayed it might turn back a few stops earlier to get back on time, cancelling the last few stops. Off-peak the trains stand at Den Helder for 38 minutes so there is no need for a delayed train to be cancelled.
