What has gone wrong with NS?

If somebody from NS is reading this, can you please try to take a train in the morning rush hour? It is impossible to board the train with the crowds at, for example, Den Haag HS / Laan van NOI. Why is it so difficult for you to run at least longer trains on the most crowded trajectories? It is not like NS is cheap either. Even after charging exorbitant fares, NS fails to deliver.

Has somebody from NS ever looked at the condition of trains inside? The floors are sticking, seats are stained, toilets are overflowing and what not! Keep demanding pay raise every year, get a pay raise by striking and then what happens next? Again strike next year to get a pay raise and still the condition of trains remain the same. In the end, guess who suffers? You guess it right, people like us who pay fortune to NS to have a big uncertainty in life whether they would reach the office in time and senses!

Can NS, for once, think about common people than pay raise or profitability?

It’s like: NS is not for people but people are for NS

Everything you (and basically everyone that travels with the train) wish for costs more money and will make the prices you pay even higher.

NS is in an endless downfall, because to take care of the loss of customers they have to either cut back or make the customers pay even more, which causes a bigger loss of customers.

Gorott, I totally agree with you. Eventually we will have to pay for the increased costs, but that should bring in at least a bit of an improvement in the schedule and services. NS has become like a stock in which you keep putting in money knowing that it won’t yield any return.

If I take a look at the 'archive’ of rides this morning between 7 - 9 AM at the HS station then I see that most of the trains are actually pretty much as long as they can be:

It's often not possible to lengthen trains even further because you have to take into account the shortest platform where that train will stop.

Some of the rides didn't depart because of a switch-failure further down the line. Maybe that explains the added crowds from this morning.

And yes, rush hour is always a peak-moment, especially in the 'Randstad’-region, crowds are not uncommon.

More and more money is going to higher and higher salaries for staff. As a consequence there is less and less money available for other things so for longer trains there is simply no money. Be aware that NS is financially in a very bad situation at the moment.

How many trains are actually running at maximal possible length? Just a few, even during rushhour. It's primarily a money issue.
