Lost Indian Identity Proof

HI,I lost my purse in Sept 2023 and found it via NS Lost & Found in Oct. However all my Indian Identity Proofs were not there in the purse and I received an email stating “If Identification documents have been found among your belongings( Passport, ID Card, Driving Licence, RP), were legally required to hand these over to a competent authority. Please contact your local authority to request a replacement” Can someone help me understand who is the “Competent authority” being referred to above.I tried reaching out to Indian Emabassy in “The Hague” but its not sent there. Regards,Anukriti

I tried reaching out to Indian Emabassy in “The Hague” but its not sent there.

Normally the documents go to the police. They will check whether the owner is involved in any security or criminal issue and if not most likely destroy them.

I'm afraid you will have to apply at the Indian embassy for new documents.
