They seem to be dropping like flies!  hehe.  Haarlem just announced they are closing for 2021, Dordrecht just cancelled.  Are there any decently big ones left open anywhere in NL for 2021?

Thanks all!

ML

Not really, sorry. In fact this has never been a big tradition in NL, as Sinterklaas on 5/12 was and still is a more major feast. In nearby Germany there are many and these are (as of today) not cancelled-starting from 40 days before 25/12. Cities like DUSseldorf or Aachen there can be done on a daytrip from NL-but its probably better to stay overnite for the atmosfere. Plus that hotels in DE tend to be cheaper as in NL too!

You best bet is-funny how it seems- go to an INtratuin Gardencentre-they are best known for setting up Xmas decorations-but its of course not like a market.

By the end of this week the government will announce new corona restrictions. After that most organisers will decide what to do. However as @bahnrider says there is anyhow no real Christmas market tradition in the Netherlands.

We have a Christmas market which is world famous also, it’s in the caves in Valkenburg aan de Geul, nearby Maastricht.

Grotten hebben geen last gehad van het hoge water omdat de ingang van de grotten hoger gelegen was dan het overstroomde deel van Vakenburg a/d Geul.
