hi, i will have to make a transfer to central Arnhem centraal station and i only have 5 minutes.  I will arrive on platform 8 and will have to take the next train at 6a.  where is the 6a, what does "a" mean?

Platform 6 is divided into two parts: a and b. This allows for two trains to be on platform 6 at the same time:

 

The easiest way to go from platform 8 to platform 6b is by using the stairs at Sonsbeekzijde.

or to 6A the broad underfloor tunnel.
in normal times this should be doable, but not if you carry a trainload with luggages and are handicapped in walking

or to 6A the broad underfloor tunnel.

That is not the easiest way, that tunnel is at the other end of platform 6 so you'd be walking in a U shape.
