First of all, I've received an email from NS in August asking me to send a photo before september 6, so that they can renew my ov-chipkart before its expiration.
I forgot to answer, and NS did not send any reminder.

I have multiple issues here, why does NS have to ask for a new photo to renew a train card?
and why the hell in ov-chipkart website now it states that my old card is renewed and I can't request a new one even if I want to pay? There is no place to ask for a new card there, I can only send a request an expired card, and according to OV-chipkart.nl my card has been renewed. If it is renewed, where the hell is it now???????

I guess technically I can use my bank card for travel until this mess is fixed by NS, but how can I apply my 40% discount that I am paying NS for every year?

Why the hell everything NS does is annoying and anti-customer?
 

In your account at ov-chipkaart.nl, check the postal address of your old ov-chipkaart, as this address is used to send the new card to.

Further ask NS customer service by phone, using humble and polite language, if they have a temporary solution for you.

In my case, NS used the address in Mijn NS and not the address registered on ov-chipkaart.nl.

The problem is they mention the address where the card will be sent to in the confirmation after uploading a photo. So TS will never have seen the address was wrong as he forgot to upload. Odd however that his card still has the status "being renewed", which it usually gets on the day the new card is produced.
