The ov card I got on August 26th could not be added to the app. Whenever I added it, it always showed: unfortunately, we are unable to link your ov-chipkaart at the moment. But the students who ordered the same package as me and got the card on the same day can activate it smoothly!

Did you order this OV-card with a contract at the same time? If you did, it is possible that your OV-card is already linked to your My NS-account. You can check that at the homepage or at your products in your account. If that is not the case, please contact our customer service by chat, X or Facebook so you can send a print screen of this error message. Then our IT-department can have a look to this issue.
Taking a photo of any card should add it to the app. If it is already linked to your Mijn NS account, it should show up in the app without adding it.
