I would like to get my children travel cards. I have a registered OV chip card for them but I am paying for them- but they are both under 12 and I am to believe children under 12 travel for free?

You need to add Kids Vrij seaon tickets to their personal OV-chipcards for them to travel for free when accompanied. If they travel alone, you can buy them a Railrunner. Note that the Kids Vrij season ticket is only vaid for trains; if they need to travel by bus, tram or metro, you need to load credit on the card in advance.
