regarding fine on april 9th

Hello, I got a mail charging me 50 for not checking in on April 9th, but I have something to say about the fine. I actually already explained to the ns worker at the train when checking my ns card. I don't know why I was marked as not checking in, maybe I double checked or I tagged so fast, but I did checked in, and what happened was not on purpose. So is there any way that I can avoid fine this time? I am a student, which means I am low on budget, and I really tried to check in for the trip.

Having al low budget does not matter. You probably did not check in at the  right company or you did not check in at all. Trying to check in does not count, neither when it was not your purpose. The trainconductor notices a valid check in or not and only a valid check-in prevents a fine.

Not nice, but that is the way the cookie crumbles.

You can call Customer Service, 030 7515155, but I am afraid it will not help - mostly..
