My bike is locked at an NS station, and I have lost the key. I have pictures of myself with the bike, so I can probably satisfy someone that it is my bike. The station is generally unmanned. I would like to retrieve my bicycle but I expect to have to cut the lock, and I am not sure how to go about doing this or getting this done without it being a problem.

Hello danbrotherston, welcome at our community,

At which station is your bicycle? If you can prove on the spot that it is your bicycle, I think it would be no problem to break the lock.

The bike is at Amersfoort Schothorst. I have a picture of myself and my partner with the bike, perhaps that is enough proof, but I wonder if they would not just call the police?

I don't recommend simply going in and breaking the lock. Talk to the staff first, explain the situation, show the picture and then it shouldn't be a problem.
