Do I have to go to a Ns machines if I want to upgrade to first class?

Maybe yes/maybe no-maybe app. It all depends on what type of normal ticket or season you have and in what format. So -like about always with easy questions- come back with detailed info.

OR-help yourself-these things are always, as can be expected somewhere on the site of NS-and also in /en/. Google often helps in milliseconds for such things.

That depends on the product you have. If you have a Flex product, you can do this in your NS App or in your Mijn NS account on a pc for example. You can find a list of every way to swap this here!

When you're travelling on the credit on the card: yes, you'll be able to select an upgrade for the whole day, off-peak or weekends for a fixed fee.

When you've got NS Flex: no, you'll have to switch first class on in the app and pay a surcharge on the journey price of 67%. Or a fixed fee for any "Vrij" product to change to first class for the whole day.

With NS Flex you cannot upgrade for a day for a fixed price. You always pay a percentage of the fare.

This page mentions the existence of a fee to change to first class for the whole day seperate from the 67% of the 2nd class fare which is mentioned two bullets above.

However it links to the fares page for more information about the additional costs, which are nowhere to be found on that page.

Dan heb je blijkbaar een oude versie van die pagina voor je, want de link werkt gewoon.

Neem aan dat je dit deel van de pagina bedoelt?

Het verschilt overigens helemaal niet per abonnement hoeveel je extra betaalt voor 1e klas met een vrij reizen NS-Flex abonnement, hooguit per tijdstip (spits/dal/weekend). Dat woordje extra mag dus weg.

Dat is bij vrij reizen gewoon 67% van het 2e klas tarief (met daarop nog 40% korting).

De link werkt wel ja, maar op de pagina waarheen gelinkt wordt staat nergens hoeveel een dag 1e klas reizen met een “Vrij-abonnement” kost.

De eerste pagina suggereert dat er een ander tarief geldt om de hele dag met een Vrij-abonnement te upgraden, maar dat is dus helemaal niet het geval blijkt uit jouw post.
