Suscription change


My invoices take place on the 19th of each month. I would like to change my subscription for the following month, from March 19th to April 19th. If I want to change my subscription for that period, when should I do it? Before the 19th of March, on the 19th of March itself, or after? I am afraid that if I change it today, I will be charged for this new subscription in this month's bill. I hope you can help me!

It is valid including April 18th. Cancel it at de 19th of April and you will not be charged. In the first month you cannot change or cancel. After the first month you can change or canceldaily and it is effective immediately.

You need to change to Flex Basic to cancel. Thet subscription is at no costs. After having changed to Flex Basic you can order a new subscription anytime, and that will be immediately effective as well. In that case you do switch from Flex Basic to your new subscription. That is a big advantage. For now: after changing to Flex Basic you do not need to pay anything, not now and not in the future as well.

Subscription changes are instant, so if you switch to a more expensive subscription now you will be billed for today.

You can switch to Basic or cancel NS Flex altogether on this page (Dutch only) https://www.ns.nl/abonnementen/online-opzeggen/tijdelijk-stopzetten

When you cancel NS Flex, it will be switched to Basic immediately and you will get subscription costs for today and the rest of the running month back.

To complete the cancellation (remove NS Flex from your card), you need to confirm that within one month at a machine at a station or here https://www.ov-chipkaart.nl/en/service-points-finder

Just switching to basic is most convenient, you will be billed monthly for travel costs only.

To summarize, changes are effective immediately, so switch on the day when you need the subscription (or don’t need it anymore).
