Emails

In the past few days, I have received three different emails asking me to pay two different amounts. The first one was on the 1st of March informing me that money will be deducted from my bank account the 6th  of March, a total of 18.72Euros. Then, the 10th of March I received an email from the Bos Incasso BV which asked me to send 40Euros. The reason for this payment was not justified anywhere, but I still paid to avoid any problem. A day after, I received another email asking again 18.72Euros. These results are concerning. I don't know what steps to take next.

You paid too late. As you had paid the amount of €18,72, you do not need to pay this again. The €40 is because NS handed the bill to a collector. You won’t have this back. There is no need to pay the €18,72 for the second time. The earlier payment was probably not yet processed. That is why you got it for a second time, but as said, there is no need to pay again. No further steps are needed. Maybe it is wise to inform Customer Service for your peace of mind.

The thing is the email by NS said I had to pay before the 17th of March and it not they would hand it to  an external company, but the 17th of March has not passed yet… I usually pay at the end of the month and this is the first time I have this problem.

Hi sofiaquintasg! Welcome to the NS Community.

If you have any questions about which invoice has been paid and what these costs are for, then I recommend to check your invoices in your Mijn NS-account. Here you can read more about the invoices.

When an unpaid invoice gets transferred to BOS Incasso, your subscription will be blocked and a last invoice for the remaining costs that you've made will be send to you. This might be what happened. If you think that you've paid all invoices and that the transfer to BOS Incasso is incorrect, then I recommend to contact our Customer Service.

I think the e-mail from Bos Incasso was from a previous invoice.

It looks like something went wrong, because you were informed on the 1st that NS will deduct money from your account on (or around) the 6th you seem to have a valid subscription (and no outstanding payments).

They will only try once, and when it fails you should get several reminders until the invoice is handed over to the collection agency, with a €40 surcharge, not for €40 only.

But since you said you frequently pay late, NS could decide to not send reminders anymore and block your subscription, at least for trains. It might still work in buses, trams or metro which could explain the € 18,72

Inform with NS Customer Service (phone or chat).
