When I use my OV chipcard how can I get the 40% Co-travel discount during off-peak hours for up to 3 passengers travelling with me?

Do I have to pre-book online?

You can find information and instruction video's on how to use the Co-travel discount here. If you have a NS subscription (except NS Flex Basis), then you can share a code with your co-traveler. With that code, your co-traveler can activate the discount on his NS Flex Basis subscription or buy a e-ticket.

You can generate a code for co-travel discount in the NS App or via My NS.

When you share the link with your co-traveller, they can choose to activate it on their own OV-chipkaart (if they have an NS Flex subscription) or purchase an e-ticket. Keep in mind that when they use an e-ticket, travelling during peak hours is never allowed. If they use an OV-chipkaart, they are allowed to complete their journey with discount as long as they start their trip during off-peak hours.
