Return ticket booked from Schipol to Herleen

Ticket booked and paid for, but now realise that I need to get off the train at Stittard which i think is 1 stop earlier. There are more trains that stop in Stittard that do not continue on to Herleen and want to see can I use my ticket for one of those journeys

Yes, you may travel from Schiphol Airport to Sittard with a valid ticket from Schiphol Airport to Heerlen, even if the train itself doesn't continue to Heerlen.
