There is more information on the website of the Gemeente Nijmegen:

It could very well be that @sofiia has a type of NS Flex on her personal OV-chipkaart. Like @JurgenH suggests there might be a conflict on the card. The only way to solve this is to let NS deactivate bus, tram and metro within NS Flex.

Sorry to hear this is happening. I can't find anything about it on Breng’s website (the public transport operator in the Nijmegen/Arnhem area), but do you perhaps have an NS Flex subscription on the same OV-chip card? That could be causing conflicts, which might explain why you're still being charged for bus rides.

If that’s the case, try contacting NS Customer Service and ask them to disable BTM (bus, tram, metro) for your card: https://www.ns.nl/en/customer-service/contact

If that doesn’t solve the issue, it’s best to get in touch with Breng’s customer service directly: https://www.breng.nl/nl/klantenservice.

Hi @sofiia - at what time did you travel? On weekdays you can only travel without additional costs after 9am: "Reist u op werkdagen voor 9.00 uur, dan betaalt u voor de hele rit de normale kosten.” (taken from iMark's link)
